Pre-Procedure Instructions
When scheduling an appointment for a permanent makeup
procedure, you must take into consideration that you may not
look your best during your healing period (a few days) due
to minor swelling and may not be able to wear full makeup in
order to keep the area bacteria-free.
Please consult your physician to see if any medications or
herbs that you are taking can increase bleeding and swelling
as well as interfere with blood coagulation. Never discontinue
a medication without your doctors approval. If you would like
to take an over the counter pain reliever or sedative prescribed
by your physician to relax that is fine as long as you have
assistance with transportation. Antihistamines such as Benedryl
taken before the procedure may reduce swelling and help you
relax. Avoid taking vitamin E and any blood thinning medications
such as aspirin several days prior to the procedures as it
may increase bleeding. It is also recommended that caffeine
and alcohol be avoided the day before procedures.
With all procedures, please arrive on time with your face
free of any makeup or creams. It is advised that if you have
a favorite color of makeup that you would like us to custom
match for you to bring it with you at your first visit.

Post Procedure Instructions
*Apply cold pack for 10 minutes for every few hours the first
day. Use of a cold/ice pack on a constant basis can impair
circulation to the point of frost bite.
*Keep moist with the healing A&D ointment for the
first 24 hours then use makeup as usual.
An over the counter product call AQUAPHOR Ointment is also
excellent for the lips to prevent scabbing.
*Notify micropigmentation technician at the first sign of
any allergic reaction, infection or excessive swelling
*Avoid strenuous exercise for 2 days
*Do not scrub, wipe or scratch treated area
*Keep the area clean. Blot or rinse off oozing.
*Do not pick or peel any skin off the area, this may lead
to pigment loss.
*Do not expose area to full pressure of the shower.
*Do not expose the area to sun or a tanning beds while healing.
The use of sunblock after healing is complete will prevent
premature pigment fading.
*Do not swim in fresh, salt or chlorinated water for 2 days.
*Ibuprofen or any over the counter pain reliever may be used
to reduce swelling and discomfort.
*Avoid the use of anti-aging containing acids, lighteners and
exfoliates to avoid pigment loss in treated areas.
*Do not use lasers for laser hair removal, etc. close to the
pigmented area to avoid an accidental hit and cause pigment
migration.
Specifics For Eyeliner
*Do not wear contact lenses for 24 hours after the procedure
*Do not dye, perm or use eyelash curler for 2 weeks
*Do not use mascara until outer healing is complete (2-3)
days. If you must use mascara before this make sure it is
a new tube that is bacteria free and remove it with Vaseline
or baby oil. If you must use mascara apply it a little farther
out on the lashes not too close to the liner area.
*Eyes will appear swollen for a couple of days and you may
look as if you have been crying. If your eyes feel irritated
you may use new lubricating refresher drops.
Specifics For Eyebrows
*Do not dye, wax, tweeze or use electrolysis for 2 weeks
. You may tweeze outside the treated area as soon as you would
like.
Specifics For Lips
*Lips may ooze for a few days. Blot and re-apply ointment.
After sleeping, crust may have formed on the lips. Rinse with
water or put more ointment on to loosed the crust. Blot and
re-apply the ointment. Use a clean, wet washcloth versus papertowels
that have lint in a circular motion to remove dead skin and
ointment.Do not keep re-using the dirty washcloth.
*Lips will be tender at first. Drink through a straw and avoid
drinking liquids that are highly acidic.
*Lips will be peeling for about a week. Do not pull skin off.
This can cause pigment loss. The edges where the liner is
will be the last area to exfoliate off. Do not pull this skin
off or you may get an indented scar (like acne that is picked).
*Lip pigmentation is more like a process than a procedure.
Different people heal at different rates and retain pigment
better/worse than others. At first the lip pigment is very
strong then after the first day or so it “blanches”
to a lighter color when the white blood cells are rising to
the healing surface to do their job. After this the desired
pigment will start to show and continue to soften and settle
under the second layer of the skin (dermis). Since the pigment
is not on the top layer of the skin (dermis) it will not look
as vibrant as lipstick therefore a layer of gloss/Vaseline
applied over the lips will make them appear more cosmetic-like.
Alone, the pigment should appear natural looking depending
upon your desired result.
